4 Day 3 Nights Family Adventure, Nature and Culture Package
(For adults and children as from 8 years old, minimum of 4 persons)

Day 1 An arrival with cookies
Arrival in the late afternoon. The children go into the kitchen and make delicious
cookies with the chef while the parents settle down and take a look around in the
beautiful garden and enjoy the majestic view of the Turrialba Volcano in the background.
Around 6 pm you will be offered a cocktail (for mom and dad & a juice or
soft drink for the kids) at our ‘Smoky Volcano Bar’ . Dinner at the lodge will be
served at 7 pm.
Day 2 Canopy, Tarzan Swing & Rappelling; *optional horseback ride
After breakfast at Guayabo Lodge, you will be heading out to your first adrenaline
surge! Three hours of adventure including a Canopy Tour, a Tarzan Swing and
Rappelling! Lunch will be served in an agrotoursim restaurant where the kids will
also be able to see different farm animals and feed the fish in the trout ponds. After
lunch you can take an optional horseback ride or head back to the lodge for a
game of ping-pong or some relaxed reading.
Dinner will be served at 7 pm.
Day 3 Bike Tour in the CATIE botanical garden; Snake Farm
Today is your opportunity to learn something in an adventurous way, about tropical
plants and animals. You will be taking a mountain bike tour through plantations
and the CATIE botanical garden in Turrialba. Your naturalist guide will explain the
great diversity of forest and fruit plantations, which can include coffee, cacao,
sugar cane, plantain and many of the tropical products that we are so used to
consume back home! Because of their richness in fruits and products, the
platations and gardens are home to many animal species, especially birds. After
lunch you will make a visit to the Snake farm where you can see and learn about
all kinds of local snakes. Back at the lodge the kids will be invited to bake their
own pizza for dinner together with the chef, while mom and dad enjoy a drink at
our bar. Dinner will be served at 7 pm.
Day 4 Rainforest Hike at Guayabo Monument; Butterfly Farm
This is your last day with us at the Lodge! Before checking out and heading on to
your next destination, you will visit the Guayabo National Monument, Costa Rica`s
most important archeological site. The ruins are set in the rainforest and on the
way you might be able to see several resident sloths in the trees. After Guayabo
make a visit to the local butterfly farm, where you can admire the beauty of the
blue morpho, the monarch and many other attractive butterfly species. Around
lunchtime you will head back to the lodge for lunch and checkout.
