Guayabo Lodge is at two hours from J. S. International Airport and half an hour from Turrialba.
Our Eco lodge is at the center of a region with many options for sightseeing, tours and activities.
Our Eco Lodge provides travelers with all they need in a natural setting. We offer
26 comfortable (Standard and Mountain Suite) rooms,
with private bathrooms and panoramic views over the Turrialba Valley and the Turrialba Volcano.
At Guayabo Lodge, our social areas and gardens intertwine. We offer our clients various
‘social spaces’ where they can relax, enjoy the panorama and the birds, read or get together
with their friends or group. On chilly evenings in December and January, you can socialize
around the fireplace, with a glass of our South American house wine, or a tropical fruit juice.
Free coffee and tea is served in the lobby and souvenir area, between 3 and 5 pm, usually this
is when you arrive at the lodge. Here you can ask for information about tours during your stay
with us. In the lobby you also have access to free internet with our desktop and wireless if
you choose to bring your own laptop.
Our Tropical Cooking School
area is located next to our main deck
where we can organize bigger events, like wedding parties and meetings.
La Granadilla Restaurant operates in
our lounge and dining areas, We offer you a choice of dishes from our Sustainable Palette,
that include typical costarican dishes, our unique Tropical Fusion Kitchen -and not to forget our ‘Menu of the Day’.
If you like to try a Tropical Cocktail, or a variety of hot and cold chocolates, ask for them at
our Smoky Volcano Bar, open from 2 to 10 pm.
Our free Garden Tour will take you first through the Orchid and Bromelia garden, where you will
find the ‘Sunset Deck’, an ideal stop for meditation, some yoga or just to relax and enjoy wide views
in direction of the ‘Cerro de La Muerte’. Carry on the tour to our ‘Ecolological Operations Station’ ,
where we produce compost through lombriculture, various vegetables, flowers and shrubs in our greenhouse,
store and reuse rainwater and select (and in part reuse) recyclable waste. From here you may want to visit
our Small Animal Farm, before returning back the flower gardens, taking a hike into the natural
surroundings or going on a Birding Tour.
